Juan Eulogio Guerrera Liera has a B.SC in agronomic engineering and animal husbandry from the Universidad de Sinaloa - where since 1982 he has been senior researcher and has also held administrative positions such as Vice-Rector of the Centre Zone-, an M.SC in Animal Production Systems from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, and a Doctorate in Biological and Healthcare Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. He possesses Promep certification and is head of the Academic Committee for Animal Sustainable Production and Welfare.
He is a member of different international groups from countries including Spain, Argentina, France, The Netherlands and Cuba and, in addition, two national bodies. He has delivered the keynote lecture at 71 conferences and has participated as a guest speaker at conferences in Mexico, Cuba, Poland, Germany, Estonia, Austria, China and the United States.
He has contributed to 118 international scientific publications and reviews, both in print and online, and is both editor of and contributor to numerous books. He has received 98 awards in recognition of his academic work, and additionally has been responsible for and contributed to thirty national and international research projects. He has been assessor of numerous graduate and post-graduate theses; he also is a tutor on further education courses in the field of Agronomy.
Currently he is a member of scientific bodies such as the International Society for Animal Hygiene, the Asociación Mexicana de Producción Animal, the Federación Agronómica del Estado de Sinaloa and a variety of civil associations.
He has been Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa since 2013.
Notable among his most recent publications is Inocuidad y Calidad en Alimentos de Origen Animal (2014), in collaboration with Alejandro Córdova Izquierdo.
