CUMex’s main engine is the quest for continuing quality improvement in the Mexican state university. Therefore, the members constituting the Consortium search for quality while also examining what the growing internationalization of their services could contribute to the development of institutions, placing emphasis on the positive impact of these trends.The various successful experiences reported in this regard include the following:

We collaborate with the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC) in search for understanding and cooperation in North America’s academic community, with the use of student and faculty exchange mechanisms that encourage them to collaborate with higher education institutions located in Canada, Mexico and the United States. With the Tuning Alfa Latin American Project, and with the recent approval of the European Union that will enable the Universities of Colima, Yucatán and other 5 Mexican educational institutions to participate in Europe's educational structure, CUMex will promote another opportunity on an international level to ensure that the fields of higher education that are of mutual interest converge, to develop professional profiles, to facilitate innovation and to build up intercontinental networks capable of setting examples of efficient practices in terms of quality education. The Grupo9 of Spanish Universities (G9) is an association comprised of the Spanish state Universities of Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura, Islas Baleares, La Rioja, Navarra, Oviedo, País Vasco and Zaragoza. The social objective shared by the members is to promote collaboration among the institutions constituting this group, both in terms of education and research activities and activities related to management and services. The Toulouse Midi- Pyrénées University Network is France's 2nd most important university group, whose mission is to support cooperation among universities and their development, based on subsidiarity, to gather information on the two systems, to guide and encourage the implementation of new collaboration schemes, to support the existing collaboration schemes, particularly in the field of mobility, to build up cooperation networks with companies and to serve as a forum for reflection and assessment, a forum for encounter with the economic world. This university network has proposed the "Toulouse-Latin America Economics Programme" (PETAL) designed to enable students to complete their bachelor's degree in economics in France, thus receiving a binational degree and the opportunity to continue their master's or doctoral studies with the financial support of the French government. .Learn more ( .zip 849 Kb)
