| AUTONOMOUS UNIVERSITY OF AGUASCALIENTES

The Autonomous University of Aguascalientes was founded on June 19th, 1973, as a public and autonomous institution. The University’s objectives are to offer high school and higher education, to conduct research in the fields of science and the humanities, and bring the benefits of culture to the various sections of the population. The University’s educational model aims to instil humanist education into the students enrolled in its educational programmes, with a view to achieving the students’ appropriate and comprehensive development in their professional, intellectual, physical, cultural and social dimensions, as well as in their attitude and values, so as to prepare them for a successful career, living life to the full. 
The Autonomous University of Aguascalientes has a department structure unlike that of traditional systems, designed to respond to the needs of our time. The University has 56 academic departments and 37 administrative departments that provide service to 10,296 students in its bachelor’s programmes; 208 in advanced technical degrees; 45 in medium technical degrees; 22 in post-basic degrees; 602 in graduate studies and 544 high school students, as well as a large number of students in the University’s extension and open learning courses, diploma courses and high schools officially accredited by the University. At present, the University offers assessable 46 bachelor’s programmes, 33 of which have been included in the Level I classification register of the Inter-Institutional Committees for Higher Education Evaluation (CIEES); 5 advanced technical degrees and 25 graduate programmes. The University’s faculty is comprised of 356 full-time professors, 72.7% of whom have completed graduate studies. www.uaa.mx
