The Information Centers and/or Digital Libraries form an important element to support the basic functions of Institutions of Higher Education; however, to belong to the Consortium it is necessary to encompass certain values in the established quality indicators; in spite of this, there are many differences among them. This is why it is important to strengthen the space provided by CUMex; establish parameters of excellence in the elements that make up information centers; create inter-institutional projects, and furthermore, summarize all these efforts in order to improve some of the services offered in these centers. These projects could include such things as setting up a Digital Library and agreements for inter-library loans, etc. In addition, the Consortium could focus on the continuing acquisition of software, an e-learning platform, data bases, copyrights and equipment, thus reducing the cost of these products.
